For the month of February, artist Weihong will transform the gallery into an interactive installation which the artist will have tea with viewers. The environment she creates minimal and simple, black and white, yin and yang, male and female, form and flow. Although it is based on traditional Chinese culture, it is not a traditional tea ceremony that she will be performing, it is TEA TIME, a fusion of East / West visual vocabularies. This installation has been shown in Houston, TX; NYC, NY; Dali, China; and most recently in Milan, Italy.
She will be in the gallery for Tea time February 1st - 24th from 4-6PM for walk ins or by appointment.
Weihong received her BA from Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing in 1989. Weihong was born in Taiyuan, China and currently lives in Houston, TX.
